New Brunswick garage-punk trio, Screaming Females, is one of the bands we're excited to see at CMJ this year.

As previously reported, CMJ will open in NYC on October 20 and the Music Marathon will continue through October 24. Artists slated to perform in venues around the city include School of Seven Bells, Broadcast, Múm, Atlas Sound, Janelle Monae, Cymbals Eat Guitars and Screaming Females.

Other bands who’ve signed on to play: Zac Brown Band, The Budos Band, Pig Destroyer, Japandroids, The Very Best, The Temper Trap, Crystal Antlers, Portugal. The Man, Superdrag, Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson, Wild Light, The Antlers, Das Racist, Suckers and Pissed Jeans. CMJ has also announced a partnership with Broadway’s Hair. Members of the musical’s team will discuss the production in a panel discussion alongside a special musical performance. The panel and performance will be held on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 2:15 at NYU’s Kimmel Center for Student Life, Eisner & Lubin Auditorium at 60 Washington Square South.
