Exclusively (for now) in our video gallery, you’ll find the first in a series of tips from one of the top Pro Tools editors out there, Paul DeCarli. A professional Audio Editor for over twenty years, DeCarli was one of the first professional Pro Tools Operators/Editors working in the Los Angeles music industry.

Today, DeCarli is recognized as a pioneer of many Pro Tools music editing techniques currently in use, and his credits back it up: His portfolio includes Metallica, Bon Jovi, Green Day, Fleetwood Mac, Santana, KISS, Kelly Clarkson, 3 Doors Down, Daughtry, Fiona Apple, and many more (see his full credits at http://www.pauldecarli.com).

Fortunately, he also likes to share the skills. DeCarli is the author of the excellent new “You Be The Pro In Pro Tools”, which is available exclusively on the iPad. Selling for only $3.99, Volume 1 is emerging as one of the Pro Tools community’s more obvious no-brainers:

It reveals DeCarli’s top 20 tips for editing speed and workflow efficiency, presented via 20 in-depth video demonstrations. The full download or a sample version can be had at http://www.YouBeThePro.com.

Meanwhile, allow us to whet your appetite with this full video tip, presented below, as DeCarli presents an invaluable time-saving technique to get to your favorite Pro Tools plug-ins fast. Be sure to click the “gear” to choose 720p, and also watch the video in full screen mode, to get the most out of it.
