Neeta Ragoowansi Joins TuneSat as VP of Business Development & Legal Affairs
The NYC-based audio monitoring service TuneSat has named Neeta Ragoowansi its Vice President of Business Development & Legal Affairs.
Ragoowansi was previously Director of Artist-Label Relations at SoundExchange, where she had worked since 2004. She also is Legal Counsel and Vice President of Women In Music, serves on the Governing Committee of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Entertainment and Sports Industries and is their Sponsorship Chair, and is a member of the Board of Governors of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (the Recording Academy/NARAS), NY Chapter.
Before joining SoundExchange, Ragoowansi was Assistant General Counsel for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, where she served for more than eight years. She also spent more than seven years as General Counsel of the Songwriters Association of Washington (SAW) and has maintained a private practice since 1992, working with numerous recording artists, songwriters, digital innovators, filmmakers, film festival organizers, record producers, club owners, production companies, and artist managers.
In addition, Ragoowansi co-founded Ecomedia in 1991 and served as its Artistic Programmer, Legal Counsel, and Fundraiser until 1995. The non-profit organization was designed to promote ecological awareness through the media. She also worked as a Producer and Music Supervisor at Betapunks, an alternative entertainment corporation which produced feature length films as well as stage plays and various video shorts, for more than four years.
