ManhatPro Announces Online Licensing Partnership with Freeplay Music

The Manhattan Producer’s Alliance (ManhatPro), a New York City-based community of professional musicians, today announced a licensing deal with broadcast production music library Freeplay Music.

The partnership provides Freeplay’s users with online access to a select catalog of music created by ManhatPro’s collective of award-winning composers.

The first edition of the library will be available in early 2010 via a ManhatPro branded portal on the Freeplay site. Terms of use will be consistent with Freeplay’s unique “free master & synchronization” model for licensing, which focuses on back-end performance royalty generation in lieu of typical upfront licensing fees. The ManhatPro catalog is now part of the Freeplay library, reconfirming ManhatPro’s commitment to curricular integration of music by virtue of Freeplay’s “free” licensing terms for in-classroom student educational use.
