The Beginning of The End: A New 6,000 Sq. Ft. Music Production Space Opening in Greenpoint

A new, 6,000 sq. ft. multi-use music production space known as “The End” is opening in Greenpoint, at the end of Greenpoint Avenue on the East River. The brainchild of two local musicians and a composer/producer, The End incorporates a three-room recording facility, live performance space/photo studio, lounges, roof decks overlooking the Manhattan skyline, and more.

The End is located on the East River in Greenpoint amid old factories, new bars and restaurants and a huge artists' community.

Created by multi-instrumentalist Brian Crowe, musician and songwriter Neal Sherlock and composer/musician Brian Binsack, The End reportedly “envisions cultivating a philosophy of creativity through community and across artistic disciplines with state-of-the art facilities designed by JMH Design Group of Greenlawn, NY.”

Chris Tabron is the in-house producer, mixer and audio engineer.

The 6,000 sq. ft. facility includes 2 lounges, 1,000 sq. ft. performance space and photo studio, two roof decks, and recording studios. The recording section of the complex is approx. 1,600 sq feet, and has its own lounge and roof deck access.

The recording facilities encompass three rooms, including a main control room, which will house a vintage analog console alongside modern recording equipment, and two live rooms – one of which can additionally be configured as a production/writing room. The studio is slated to open July 1.

Binsack describes the genesis of the studio: “We’ve all lived the life of musicians in this city, and the facilities you have to rehearse, record, or perform in are often sub-par. We looked for a long time for our dream facility, where we could write, practice, and make albums all under one roof.” Crowe adds, “We couldn’t find one, so we built one.”
