Ronson, Visconti, Power & Matschullat On How to Make a Living Making Records
A last-minute addition to the AES technical program will seat Mark Ronson (Kanye West, Amy Winehouse, Ghostface Killah), Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T. Rex, Morrissey), Bob Power (Erykah Badu, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots) and Carter Matschullat (Mason Proper, Bad Veins, Aberdeen City) for a discussion on modern-day record production.
This group will tackle the million-dollar question of how studio professionals will make a living making records in the 21st Century.
The panel discussion, Producing Across Generations: New Challenges, New Solutions — Making Records for Next to Nothing in the 21st Century will be moderated by producer/mixer and NYU prof Nicholas Sansano (Sonic Youth, Public Enemy) and producer/engineer Jesse Lauter (The Low Anthem, The Woes).
Producing Across Generations will be held at the Javits Center this Friday, Oct. 9, from 5-7PM.
