Join SonicScoop‘s Justin Colletti as he sits down with one of his favorite producer/engineers, John Congleton.

John is a recent GRAMMY winner who is probably best known for his work with St. Vincent, The Walkmen, Explosions in the Sky, Nelly Furtado, Baroness, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Swans, David Byrne, and many more.

In this first part of their interview series with B&H, John and Justin talk about the production process, from initial prep to tracking to final mastering, and get a feel for John’s philosophy and approach, as well as some key techniques.

    Another great interview Justin (I recently watched your Joe Chicarelli piece).

    Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! When I lived in NYC, my girlfriend and I went to Provinceton every summer. Wherever you may go, I hope you and your new spouse do it together and have a long and happy life together. 🙂
