Soundtoys Raises Over $220,000 for Charity Through “Pay What You Wish” Promotion
During the holiday season last month, plug-in developer Soundtoys launched a promotion for consumers to name their price on a different plug-in that was released each week. As evidence that audio brings out the best in people, thousands of musicians, producers, and engineers participated, raising an eye-popping total of $220,218.
The “Give a Little, Get a Little” promo donated 100 percent of the proceeds to the Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) – A foundation dedicated to save the lives of refugees fleeing violence, persecution, and hardship at sea. Since their inception, MOAS has rescued nearly 12,000 men, women, and children.
Although this is not the first charitable event Soundtoys has launched, Give a Little, Get a Little has been their most successful to date. Ken Bogdanowicz, founder, CEO, and lead designer elaborates:
Though we are headquartered in Burlington, Vermont, USA, our users are international. As the leader of a rapidly growing, and global company, it’s important to me that we demonstrate generosity and compassion worldwide,
Soundtoys paid for all the expenses of the campaign with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to MOAS, an independent, non-governmental, search and rescue organization that saves lives on the world’s deadliest migrant routes.
