You asked for it, you got it: SonicScoop is ramping up the video side of the website, and to launch or new video blog, editor Justin Colletti has contributed an epic new post called “How to Record a Full Length Album (And How Not To).”

This concise-yet-detailed guide, based on 15 years of studying how artists succeed (and fail) in the 21st century, compares the pros and cons of the 3 primary ways to record a full-length release, and plays favorites, hard.

Aimed at new artists working on their first big projects, it’s also a great watch for producers and engineers who often work with new bands. (We see heads nodding all over the place when Justin rants on this subject.)

    You’re right! Musicians ought to focus on their art. It took me 5 years to learn audio engineering, and in that time my voice, music and hair changed ;).
