Warner/Chappell Production Music Debuts Improved Website & Search Platform
Online search has seen a major evolution on the Warner/Chappell Production Music Website, which debuted this week at WarnerChappellPM.com.
Visitors will find an improved Website and search platform, which has been significantly updated with a number of new features. Among the enhancements are a responsive layout with simplified controls, easier access and improved functionality to the company’s expansive library of music through its search platform.
And there’ll be no mistaking where you are: Warner/Chappell Production Music has also incorporated the logo of its well-known parent company, Warner/Chappell Music, to achieve a closer alliance between these musical brands.
A more fluid feel and greater compatibility with mobile devices was also a priority, hence the adoption of HTML5 technology in the new design. All of Warner/Chappell Production Music’s 80+ catalogs of music are hosted on WarnerChappellPM.com, and users can preview all of its tracks and view them sorted by brand, catalog, style, or purpose.
Also included on the site are video and audio montages of the various uses of Warner/Chappell’s production music, including sports programming, news, music packages, and advertisements. On the information tip, WarnerChappellPM.com will provide users with up-to-minute news from across its various brands, including the latest additions to its catalogs.
Warner/Chappell Production Music paid careful attention to music supervisors’ expanded expectations for online search, in designing the new site. “Search sites have continued to improve making it easier to find music, create playlists, share music, stream, etc…” Says Randy Wachtler, President & CEO, Warner/Chappell Production Music. “Because the tools have evolved to the point where it’s become very easy to accomplish these tasks, it has made the job easier for music supervisors and all users to work any time and at their own pace.
“We use the Soundminer online platform which performs searches based on metadata,” Wachtler continues. “Our in-house team is constantly refining metadata to be as accurate as possible. There are other ‘sonic’ search engines becoming available and we’ll look at those as well. It’s our goal at WCPM to make the job of finding great music as easy as possible for our partners. Generally speaking, PMA (Production Music Association) members have great search tools and websites.”
Relaunching an intensive online search site is always a major undertaking – WCPM had to be constantly mindful of both the opportunities and challenges in executing the new site.
“Our total focus is on our client partners, and in speaking with them we identified a desire for a more contemporary, edgier look along with a complete redesign and improvement to our Website and search platform,” notes Wachtler. “We’re already receiving some nice comments on the improvements and we’ll continue to roll out a few more nice surprises soon. We offer more than 200,000 tracks across 80 catalogs and as a major supplier of music — it’s always a challenge to get every detail right.”
