Mixing/Mastering/Remixing Studio Sweet Spot: Electric Blue Studios — Park Slope, Brooklyn

View Single Page

When bands take recording into their own hands – watch out! Brian Wenckebach of the Brooklyn group Elika proves that the obsession with getting your record right can go down the slippery slope of…studio ownership.

The result for Wenkebach resides in a Park Slope apartment, at the mixing/mastering/remixing facility he’s dubbed Electric Blue Studios. As visitors are finding out, every inch of EBS is artist-friendly – not surprising since its founder is walking the exact same walk as its clients.

If you want to connect with a highly creative spirit, then read on through – Electric Blue just might be for you.

The building is on fire, you only have time to grab ONE thing to save, what is it?
The bottle of whiskey because I’d definitely need a drink if that happened.

Rave Reviews: The space has good vibes and the equipment is top notch, but people rave about the upbeat atmosphere, and the pervading ethos that the experience should be about having fun and making that joy shine through the performance.

Most Memorable Session Ever:  The 100-track, Asobi Seksu mega-session was totally cool to work on.

Session You’d Like to Forget: Digging aluminum foil out of an overflowing toilet, while our client denied responsibility.

Dream Session: Prince and Aphex Twin covering Slowdive’s “Souvlaki” album
