SONGS Music Publishing Appoints Ron Perry President and Head of A&R
Ron Perry has been appointed President and Head of A&R of NYC-based SONGS Music Publishing.
Formerly Head of A&R at SONGS, Perry will continue to report to SONGS Founder and CEO Matt Pincus, and will oversee contemporary acquisitions for the company, including all writer and artist signings and song-plugging activities. He will also continue to manage SONGS Pop, Urban, and Rock joint ventures. Perry is based in New York.
A SONGS Music Publishing partner, Perry has been with the company since its founding in 2004. He has been responsible for all of the company’s frontline signings, which are all on a worldwide co-publishing basis, including artists Diplo, Dev, Q-Tip, Marsha Ambrosius, Bright Eyes, Sleigh Bells and many others.
In the past few months alone Perry has had a hand in co-publishing multi-genre hits such as Dev’s “In the Dark”, Tyga’s “Rack City” and “Faded”, M83’s “Midnight City”, Usher’s “Climax” and most recently Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Good Time”.
SONGS Music Publishing’s writers include Diplo (Usher, No Doubt, Justin Bieber, MIA, Major Lazer), Devin Tailes (Dev), Marsha Ambrosius, Brian Lee (Lady Gaga, Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen), Matt Thiessen (Relient K, Katy Perry, Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen), Q-Tip, Morgan Kibby (M83, White Sea), Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes, Monsters of Folk) and Jose Gonzalez. The company has offices in NYC, Los Angeles and London.
