SonicScoop LA: New Echo Park Complex Houses Infrasonic's Expanded Mastering Facilities & Vintage King Demo Studios
Infrasonic Sound Recording Company – which we recently covered via SonicScoop L.A. – has expanded their operation with a custom built mastering studio located at 1176 W. Sunset Blvd in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Infrasonic’s corresponding 16/24 track classic recording studio will remain at its East L.A. location, five miles away from the new mastering suites.
Under the direction of Co-Owner and Principal Mastering Engineer Pete Lyman, Infrasonic Mastering will officially open its doors at 1176 W. Sunset on Wednesday, July 18th. The staff, now including Grammy-winning engineer John Greenham and mastering assistant Phillip Rodriguez, will operate out of three dedicated mastering studios and a “one-of-a kind vinyl cutting room,” equipped with Infrasonic’s vintage Scully cutting lathe.
Infrasonic’s new mastering studios are housed alongside Vintage King’s new “VKLA” private Los Angeles showroom and demo studios. Stay tuned for more coverage of this new audio complex, which will host events, seminars, and product launches.
Vintage King Los Angeles (VKLA) is displaying a variety of classic and current gear in the new facility, including eight analog and digital consoles, twenty pairs of monitors, fifty microphones, and dozens of preamplifiers and outboard processors. Clients can test out nearly a dozen newer consoles such as the API 1608 and the SSL 948, as well as boutique gear from Barefoot Sound, Shadow Hills Industries, Neve, Dangerous Music, Burl, Telefunken, and other top industry brands.
