At AES this past weekend, SSL announced the imminent release of new RTAS versions of the SSL Duende Native plug-in collection.

SSL Director of New Products Niall Feldman explains:

“Although The Duende Native plug-in collection has always been available with an included RTAS wrapper, which has worked very well for most users, some users reported limitations when using the wrapped plug-ins within Pro Tools DAW architecture in conjunction with DAW Controller hardware.

“These new native RTAS versions of the Duende collection completely address those concerns and make the superb sound of SSL plug-ins even more appealing to Pro Tools users worldwide. The RTAS versions are the first fruit of SSL becoming an Avid Development Partner. This new relationship demonstrates a spirit of wider industry cooperation and is one we hope will continue to deliver better and more open working environments for audio professionals for many years to come.”

The new RTAS versions of Duende Native Plug-ins will be available starting in mid-November 2011 through the SSL website. Existing plug-in owners will be able to download new software installers free of charge and the new installer will be supplied as standard to all new customers.

The foundations of the Duende Native collection are plug-in adaptations of two SSL console classics, the EQ and Dynamics Channel plug-in, which provides an EQ and Dynamics processing solution based on the signature tone of an SSL console channel strip, and the Stereo Bus Compressor plug-in, which gives you the classic SSL stereo master bus compressor. In addition, Duende Native includes the ‘task-specific’ Drumstrip and Vocalstrip plug-ins, and the X-EQ, X-Comp and X-Verb processors.

Duende Native is fully 64-bit capable in suitable Mac and Windows Operating Systems.
