Grand Street Recording Hosts Projects for Diane Birch, David Mead, The Compulsions
In Williamsburg, Grand Street Recording has reported a notable spread of recent sessions:
Owner/producer/co-head engineer Ken Rich is working on NYC singer Deborah Berg’s newest record. The record features Frank Vilardi on drums, Ken Rich on bass/production/engineering, Andrew Sherman on keys, and John Putnam on guitar.
Nashville singer-songwriter David Mead tracked his new record with Ken Rich, featuring Ethan Eubanks (drums), Andrew Sherman (keys), and Jeff Hill (bass). Eubanks and Sherman co-produced the record.
S-Curve artist Diane Birch spent a week with English producer Ant Whiting. The pair began production on her next record, with Tomek Miernowski engineering.
Ken Rich is working on The Compulsions’ newest project, with Hugh Pool co-producing. The Compulsions are led by Rob Carlyle and features Frank Ferrer and Richard Fortus (both of Guns N’ Roses) and Sami Yaffa (of the New York Dolls).
Co-head engineer Tomek Miernowski produced and engineered “Dress and Tie”, a single for singer-songwriter Charlene Kaye and Darren Criss of “Glee”.
Producer Christian Langdon worked on new material with The Pierces. Tomek Miernowski engineered.
Michael Pitt of “Boardwalk Empire” mixed a live recording from Paris with Tomek Miernowski.
Singer-songwriter Mike Errico re-recorded the song Daylight, from his previous record “Pictures of the Big Vacation,” featuring singer Leah Siegel on the new rendition. The song was produced for the upcoming movie That’s What She Said, due out later this year, and engineered by Tomek Miernowski.
Guitarist Adam Levy came in to produce an EP for singer-songwriter Adam Crawford. The recording features Adam Levy on guitar, Andy Hess on bass, and Tony Mason on drums.
