When the big pop, rock and rap stars want to record or mix in Manhattan, where do they go? Check it out — a recent sampling of who’s been in session at Germano Studios:

Mariah Carey recorded for her new Christmas album Merry Christmas II You with engineer Brian Garten, produced by Marc Shaiman and Mariah Carey.

John Mayer was in writing for a new album, engineering by Kevin Porter and John Mayer. Mayer was also at Germano recording guitars for an “INXS w/ John Mayer” project, which was produced by INXS drummer Jon Farriss with engineering by Chad Franscoviak.

Kylie Minogue recorded vocals for an upcoming album, with French producer/songwriter Sandy Vee producing and engineering by Kevin Porter. Anita Baker recorded vocals for an upcoming album, also with Porter at the controls.

And Keith Richards was in writing and recording with co-producer Steve Jordan and Yohei Goto engineering.

Justin Bieber featuring Chris Brown came through to record vocals for a new track, produced by The Messengers, with engineering by Brian Springer.

Production, recording and 5.1 surround mixing on Michael Jackson’s “The Immortal World Tour” with Kevin Antunes producing and Kevin Porter engineering. And 5.1 surround mixing sessions of Miles DavisSketches of Spain and Seven Steps to Heaven were also produced at Germano by Noel Lee and engineered by Dave Rideau for Monster Music.

Edie Brickell was in mixing for an upcoming album release, with engineer Andy Smith.

Jamie Foxx was in with Fabian Marasciullo to mix his new album Best Night Of My Life.

Black Eyed Peas recorded and mixed portions of “The Beginning” at Germano, with will.i.am producing, and engineering by Dylan “3D” Dresdow and Padraic Kerin.

Keri Hilson recorded vocals for her new record (out next week), No Boys Allowed with engineering by Brian “Beardo” Jones. Leona Lewis recorded for an upcoming release with Sandy Vee producing, and Kevin Porter engineering. Nicki Minaj recorded for Pink Friday with Swizz Beats producing and Kenny Lloyd engineering.

Redman mixed his upcoming record with Pat Viala. And Ghostface Killa mixed for his new record with Sean C and LV producing, and engineering by Doug Wilson. T.I. came through to record vocals at Germano as well, with engineering by Kevin Porter.

Beyonce‘s also been in recording with Tricky Stewart and The-Dream producing, and engineering by Brian “B” Thomas, Kevin Porter, Pat Thrall and DJ Swivel.

Alicia Keys did some recording at Germano with Ann Mincieli engineering. Kristen Chenoweth recorded vocals for an upcoming album with Bob Ezrin producing and Kenta Yonesaka engineering.

Jennifer Hudson recorded for her upcoming release with Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz producing, Ann Mincieli engineering. And Swizz Beatz also spent some time writing and recording for his own project, with Kenny Lloyd engineering.
