SPONYonline’s Event “Today’s World of A&R” Today, Tuesday, 3/9
SPONYonline, a new division of SPONY (Songwriter’s Pitch-a-Thon Of New York) will webcast its second live-streamed “EDU-Pitch” event on Tuesday, March 9th, 7:00pm – 9:00pm, Eastern Time. Part seminar, part song pitch, the stellar industry panel will be comprised of A&R executives from Rykodisc Records (a Warner Music label), Bug Music and Songs Publishing.
Registration for the event closes at 12:00 Noon EST today, 3/9.
Check SPONYonline for future events.The “EDU” portion of the program will include the role of A&R in today’s market, what they look for, who they’re signing, and what it takes to get a deal these days.
Then, 50 songs will be chosen at random to be pitched on-air. (All participants will be allowed to provide a link to a site or page where their music can be heard, which will then be forwarded to the panelists.)
In addition, questions can be submitted to the panel, and participants can communicate with each other via an ongoing Chat Room.
SPONY was launched in April, 2007 to bring together the New York songwriting community and provide it with an opportunity to both pitch to industry players, and to network with each other. The new online event series will bring those same opportunities to the global songwriting community.
