Eric Clapton, Jamie Lidell, Mary J. Blige at Germano Studios
Germano Studios has had an action-packed month of sessions with Eric Clapton, Alicia Keys, Jamie Lidell, Mary J. Blige and more.
Clapton recorded guitars and vocals for a new record in Germano’s Studio 1 with producer Doyle Bramhall and engineer Justin Stanley in Studio 1.
Also in the SSL Duality-equipped Studio 1, engineer Ann Mincieli mixed Alicia Keys for the NBA All Star Game, producer/engineer Gary Lyons mixed songs for a new Jamie Squire record, and Mary J. Blige recorded vocals for “We Are The World For Haiti” with producer Quincy Jones and engineer Christian Baker in sessions which were filmed. Studio 1 is where Blige recorded the majority of her lead vocals for her latest record, Stronger With Each Tear.
Meanwhile in Studio 2, Fabian Marasciullo mixed Pharrell Williams for an upcoming film, Despicable Me, mixed a new single for T-Pain, and new songs for The Game, Cee-Lo and Fat Joe.
And Jake Aron mixed Jamie Lidell‘s new record, Compass, in Studio 2. Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear collaborated with Lidell on Compass and participated in the mix sessions at Germano. Compass is due out on Warp Records in May 2010.
The Zolas also mixed at Germano with NYC-based producer/engineer John O’Mahony for 604 Records.
Like Studio 1, Germano’s Studio 2 is also equipped with a 48-input SSL Duality and Pro Tools HD4 Accel, Logic Studio and Exigy S412G four-way custom stereo monitoring system. Both Studios 1 and 2 are fully equipped for tracking and mixing sessions, though with a larger tracking room, Studio 1 tends to handle recording sessions and 2 more mixing sessions.
