The New York chapter of AES will host a screening of Worlds of Sound: The Ballad of Folkways on Tuesday, February 16 at 7 PM.
Worlds of Sound is a documentary film about the 60-year history of Smithsonian Folkways Records, the indie label which helped to develop artists such as Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and Leadbelly.
Following the screening will be a discussion with Richard Carlin, longtime Folkways producer, and Andrea Kalin, producer and co-director of the film. The discussion will be moderated by Roger Johansen of Tangerine Mastering.
The event is free and will take place at The Joseph Urban Theater, 959 Eighth Avenue between 56th and 57th Streets.
