Music Row Comes to Manhattan With “How Nashville Really Works Today”
On Thursday, March 4, the Torrez Music Group will bring Music Row to Manhattan, presenting the educational workshop “How Nashville Really Works Today.” The event will run from 7:00 – 10:00 PM at the Gibson Entertainment Showroom in Midtown.
Hosting evening will be Alex Torrez, former Director of A&R for Columbia Records, and current head of Gibson Entertainment Relations and The Torrez Music Group, both based in Nashville.
Torrez is an artist manager, publisher and producer with 20+ years of experience in the Nashville music business. The workshop will address how to get your material heard by the industry in Nashville.
For the last hour of the event, songwriters will have the opportunity to have Torrez listen to their songs for a possible recording by country group Calico Trail, currently signed to Lyric Street Records. Torrez is looking for songs with a sound of “Eagles meets the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.”
Admission is $30, or $25 for members of Music Xray, SongU.com, NSAI, SHOF, or SGA. Attendees must mail in the registration form by March 1. Walk-ins will be accepted if space permits.
