Peavey & Muse Roll Out The MuseBox
Coming up on Winter NAMM, which kicks off in Anaheim on Thursday (1/14/10), Peavey Electronics and Muse Research and Development have announced a strategic alliance, to collaborate on the manufacturing, engineering and distribution of a new line products. The first product they’ll bring to market under this partnership is the MuseBox Musical Instrument and Effects Box.
This partnership pairs Peavey’s 45 years of research, development and VST software innovations, as well as its global distribution network and manufacturing capabilities, with Muse Research and Development’s technology-based product designs, which include the Receptor hardware VST plug-in player. Peavey’s developments in the software emulation space include products like the ReValver amp modeling software.
The MuseBox reportedly uses virtual instruments and effects technology in a “brand-new way,” so players can easily transport and use their software-based synths, sounds and effects in rehearsals, gigs, the practice room, or the studio. The MuseBox’s compact 2U half-rack design is built for the road. Its custom software environment is based on MuseMachine, a Linux-based operating system made specifically to run audio plug-in software at 24-bit/48kHz pro-quality audio.
