SPARS Elects Kirk Imamura (NYC) and Tony van Veen (NJ) to Board

The Society of Professional Audio Recording Services elected new officers and board members for the coming year, during the recent AES convention.

Two NYC-area members have been added to this important group: Welcomed to the board were Kirk Imamura, President of Avatar Studios, New York, NY and Tony van Veen, CEO and President of Disc Makers and CD Baby, Pennsauken, NJ.

Eric Johnson, Executive Producer with Blazing Music + Sound, Raleigh, NC was elected President while Sherri Tantleff, Director of industry Outreach with Full Sail University, Orlando, FL was elected Secretary.

Other appointments included the election of Kevin Becka, Director of Education for the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences, Tempe, AZ and technical writer for Mix as Treasurer. Immediate past President, Leslie Ann Jones, Director of Music and Scoring at Skywalker Sound, San Rafael, CA, will remain on the board as a consultant.

SPARS is the 30 year old non profit association representing professionals in the Recording Industry. The organization is dedicated to providing networking, education and community to its members and the industry as a whole. (http://www.spars.com)
