AES Spotlight: Behind The Glass Producers Panel
One of the panel discussions happening at the AES Convention next week will gather producer/engineers Tony Brown (George Strait, Reba McEntire), Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Avett Brothers), George Massenburg (Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris), Ann Mincieli (Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston), and Russ Titelman (Stevie Winwood, Eric Clapton).
On Sunday, October 11 at 2pm in the Javits Center, the panel discussion — “Behind The Glass: Audio Production in the 21st Century” — will be moderated by Howard Massey, author of the book Behind The Glass and the recently released Behind The Glass Volume II.
The panelists will dissect the state of the industry today and take a look ahead at the way that production techniques are likely to evolve in the years to come.
Topics will include new media and online distribution, the application of legacy (analog) technology in an increasingly digital world and the critical role of the producer/engineer team in driving both the creative and technical aspects of the record-making process.
A book signing of Behind The Glass Volume II will follow at 5 PM at the Hal Leonard booth, #837, on the show floor.
