Headgear Behind freqControl.com, Phosphorescent & Dinner With The Band
A hotbed of music and audio activity in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Headgear Recording Studio recently launched freqControl.com, an awesome new website featuring live session videos and performances, producer/engineer interviews, technology reviews and how-to’s. Check it out!
Meanwhile the studio’s been fully in session, with folk-mystic Phosphorescent in the studio tracking with Headgear co-owner/engineer Alex Lipsen (of The Jealous Girlfriends) for his upcoming record on Dead Oceans. French pop chanteuse, Emilie Simon, tracked a few songs at Headgear, with engineer Kyle Boyd, for an upcoming release on Barclay Universal. And Diabolik Productions used Headgear to track songs of multiple bands for the new IFC show, “Dinner with the Band” to air in Winter ‘09.
Most recently, producer/engineer John Agnello (Sonic Youth, The Hold Steady) was at Headgear, mixing Apache Beat. Check out an Agnello-mixed track posted as Self-Titled’s “Test-Pressing” feature yesterday:
