Grammy-winning singer/songwriter and darling of the Lower East Side, Norah Jones, will release her fourth studio album on Blue Note Records this November. She recorded the as-yet-untitled album at The Magic Shop on Crosby Street, her own NYC studio, The Coop, and also worked out at Sunset Sound in Hollywood.

Jones wrote nearly all of the songs for the new record in the past two years since completing tours in support of her last album, Not Too Late, which went double-platinum in the U.S.

Jones has reportedly taken a new direction on the upcoming record, experimenting with different sounds, playing mostly guitar as opposed to piano, and working with a new set of collaborators, including Nashville-based producer/engineer Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Tom Waits, Modest Mouse). Jones again enlisted Come Away With Me and Feels Like Home songwriting/guitar contributor Jesse Harris, and also tapped Ryan Adams and Okkervil River‘s Will Sheff as writer/collaborators.

King helped Jones put together a new group of musicians to perform on the album, including drummers Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M.) and James Gadson (Bill Withers), keyboardist James Poyser (Erykah Badu, Al Green), and guitarists Marc Ribot (Tom Waits, Elvis Costello) and Smokey Hormel (Johnny Cash, Joe Strummer).
