Dubway Studios Mixes Regina Spektor, Los Amigos Invisibles Live; Tracks for John Shannon, Mixes for DIY Network

CHELSEA, MANHATTAN: Dubway Studios has been recording and mixing live performances from the Apple store, including recent sets by Venezuelan funk-rock band Los Amigos Invisibles, who performed as part of the Latin Alternative Music Conference.  The Grammy nominated group is currently touring to promote the June 9th release of their new album Commercial on David Byrne’s Luaka Bop label. Singer/songwriter Regina Spektor also performed at the Apple store in support of her new album Far released on June 23rd by Sire Records.  Dubway engineers Jason Marcucci and Mike Judeh recorded both performances and mixed them at Dubway.

Limewire was back at Dubway recording Gary Jules for its series Live at Lime.  Jules is currently touring in support of musician and pro surfer Donavan Frankenreiter and his new album Pass It Around on Lost Highway Records. Jules has toured with artists such as Bob Dylan, Tears for Fears, and Jim Bianco and released his last record Bird on his own label Down Up Down in November of 2008.  Dubway’s Mike Judeh tracked and mixed the session.

International independent label Obliqsound were back in the studio with contemporary guitarist, vocalist and songwriter John Shannon.  Shannon has toured with artists including singer/songwriter Sonya Kitchell and Japanese pianist and composer Hiromi.  This June found him back in the studio tracking flugelhorn and bass overdubs for a new record to follow his 2008 debut solo album American Mystic.  Dubway’s Mike Judeh tracked the session.

Production company Original Media were back at Dubway with DIY network show “King of Dirt.”  The docu-style program features a Brooklyn born landscape contractor Gino Panaro as he tackles everything from commercial projects for the New York Aquarium and the New York/New Jersey Port Authority to landscaping homes for locals. Dubway engineer Keith Rigling mixed the final audio for the show.
